Ian Sprague was born on December 1st in 1990. He lives in Mason, Michigan with his parents, Ken and Michelle Sprague and his brother, Sean. Ian claims his parents are also known as the "National Bank of Mom & Dad". He also says his brother has helped him out with a tire purchase. This is definitely a close family operation.

When he is not racing or working on his car, Ian can be found working at the Aurelius Library.

Ian drives the #6 Street Stock which is a Mid-80's Olds Cutlass powered by a 383 cubic inch Chevy engine built by Earl Miles. This car was previously owned and driven by Howard McDonough.

"I spent nearly every summer, growing up, at Spartan or Springport watching my godfather, Mert Thompson, race. Then I worked on the #51 DST Racing Street Stock, as a crew member, at age 12 until the present."

"I took a metals class at school, learned to weld, and did a lot of the welding on Dave Thorburn's 'new' Street Stock at age 14. Then at the end of Spartan's 2005 season, I bought Howard McDonough's Street Stock, worked on it all winter at Dave Thorburn's shop, and the #6 Sprague Racing Street Stock was born. I put #6 on it because Mark Martin is my favorite NASCAR driver."

Ian has many sponsors he would like to thank:

Dr. Eric L. Eby - DDS, PC. in Okemos
Merindorf Mini-Storage in Mason
Merindorf Meats & More in Mason
CADL (Capial Area District Library) in Lansing
Custom Cut Lawn & Snow Service in Hanover
Transmission Technology Inc. in Dimondale
Robertson's Garage in Toledo, Ohio

"My first night out at Springport, I qualified over 2 seconds slower than the fast qualifier. My last night out, I started on the pole for the fast heat. What a difference some seat time makes!"

"My plans are to attend the Capital Area Career Center, beginning this fall (2006). I am enrolled in their Welding Technology program. After graduation (in 2008), I plan to attend LCC and enroll in their Welding Technology (NASCAR applications) program, as well as the High Performance program."
